Sock Exchange Game
My knitting group is meeting tomorrow for a special gathering of food and fun! We meet weekly throughout the year, but tomorrow is our Christmas celebration! Instead of a gift exchange, and not exactly like the stocking exchanges that I've seen on Pinterest, this is a little different. It's pretty specific to our knitting group, so if you want to use it for a different type of group, you can make up your own. Printible pdfs are at the bottom of this post!
Preparing for the Game
1. Spend $10 or under on a pair of new socks.
2. Don't bring in any you have knit yourself; they are priceless and don't fit our spending limit!
3. Regifting socks you have around but are still new is perfectly acceptable!
4. Don't stuff them with stuff. That just makes the cost go up and isn't needed. Socks are fun enough!
5. They can be any silly, crazy or ordinary socks.
6. Wrap them for Christmas. No need for a tag!
The coordinator prints off the cards. The file is a pdf of three pages of Avery 5371 Business Cards (10 cards per sheet). Break them apart and put them into a small gift bag, bowl, or whatever.
Playing the Game
1. Pick a person to start.
2. That person picks a card and does with their gift as instructed on the card.
3. The person whose gift was traded picks next.
4. Do this for a period of time, or until all the cards are gone.
5. Be sure no one has their own before ending the game. If so, keep going a bit longer, or figure out a trade.
6. Now everyone opens their gifts!
