So, Anna was sick on Tuesday so she and I didn't go to the second day of Crunch Week rehearsal. The next day we went with Anna at what she called 75% better. I was wondering how she would hold up through the next few days without proper time to relax and recover. Alas, a snowstorm forecast promised enough of an intensity that the director canceled the Thursday show. All actors and staff are home, probably tapping their fingers on their shovels itching to get back to the theater! I know I'm feeling a depletion of the momentum, but that's just me...hopefully the actors are not losing their stage enthusiasm. Opening night is now Friday!
Anna is making two more masks for some extras that were added to this week's production. A bit of my sewing yesterday was for changes in actors/characters as well. It was fun to make a jumper type dress and then to take a classic oxford shirt and make it into a frilly ruffled blouse for under the dress. Today I will sew Leonato's ruffles back onto his jacket. We had to lengthen the sleeves, and we had to wash the stage makeup off the collar ruffle. I'll also tweek his chain of office to hang at the right place. We thought it was right, but when watched during dress rehearsal, it was definite that it needed to be fixed.
Ok, I know the two people who read this don't give a hoot about all of these details, but as I type I realize this is a sort of journal for me. "What DID I do with my days?" :)
