Unlike Reid State Park Beach, Higgins Beach is a developed beach with the road running along the shore, and houses lining the street with a spectacular view of the water.
She managed to get up on the board and ride pretty far in several times. She says only four times but it seemed like more than that in the 2 plus hours they were out there!
Although they may have tried, the crew of five never managed to all catch the same wave.
I did snap a shot of both Anna and Avery's brother Josh up on their boards at the same time!
While they played, I basked in the 85 degrees and sunshine while chatting with Amy and her sister. I marveled that when Amy and I had visited Reid on the first day of this month, I thought that was my final beach jaunt of the summer. That day it was also very warm. I don't know who is sillouetted in this photo; it just seemed like a shot that needed taking.
As the tide went out, I realized once again the genius of God's provision, even for these often naughty birds who steal cookies from our snack bags! The waters recede and leave behind all manner of tasty gems for the seagulls. How perfect is that?
Anna had a blast! Her first time will not be her last, she has declared. The waves at Reid are always reliable. Now to find a surf shop where she can rent gear when she is home summers between college years. Here's a shout-out to Black Point Surf Shop for making the fun of this day possible!
