What's Changed Lately

Don't these cookies look scrumptious?  They are; I just tested another one to confirm. Chewy Molasses Cookies ala Anna from her King Arthur cookbook.

So, anyway, back to the other things that are going on in the kitchen.  

This is where we do our baking.

This is where Micah added vertical storage.  He bought two racks for about $7 each.  I waited 13 years to do this?  I guess the bigger issue was getting the horizontal shelf out.  He had to use a saw.  I wouldn't have gotten around to that task any time soon myself.  ;)

 This is where it used to be as I mentioned weeks ago when Micah first built vertical storage into this oak cabinet.  Now, however, it is our recycling center.  The other door will have an identical container for returnables, (those cans and bottles that have "ME 5cent deposit" on them.)

Micah added the little cabinet to the right yesterday.  Next comes the vertical cabinet underneath it so that my mop and broom are stashed.

Micah built this a couple days ago. He built it so that the glass would fit exactly on top of it.  He will be raising the outlet up higher.  Now the next time we have a gathering and put out crock pots of food, it will be easier. I'm going to hang a curtain in front of everything rather than put doors on it, just for fun!

We remembered that we were storing our griddle in a high shelf in the bathroom, so we thought maybe one more shelf in the cabinet would fit and make good use of the space.  So, the next day, he built it in!

Also the other day, I found this perfect chair at the ReStore.  I will stay here, while the blue one will go up to our bedroom.  We made room in our bedroom by removing a TV from there.  Now I need to make a nice cover for the foot stool.  I'm picturing it with a pleated ruffle starting halfway down or something.
