It's Cold Outside

Yup.  Just puttin' that out there.  No photos, or anything, just a plain ol' statement.  It was 1 degree headed to church this morning.  On the way home it had warmed up to 10 degrees.  I sat on the couch under an afghan all afternoon. On the way to church tonight it was down to 7 degrees.

Been reading this blog lately.  Started at her beginning post and am reading forward.  I like her attitude toward her home and family and the relation they have too each other.  Homes should be lived in, and not museums.  If you've ever touched anything in museum, or gotten anywhere near anything in an art gallery, you've experienced the humiliation of an alarm, or an alarming sounding docent, or both.  I don't like the feeling, (insert memory of our family visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Southbridge, MA in June 1998 here.  No, it wasn't toddler Anna, nor was it feisty 5 year old Adam, or his older brothers Micah or Erik.  It was me.  I didn't touch anything, honest, I just pointed...too closely.)  So, anyway, who wants to raise their kids in that sort of atmosphere.  Don't do it.  I like "The Nester's" saying: "It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."  Go ahead, make it beautiful, but make sure it's not so breakable that your children have to treat it like a museum!
