Kitchen Adventures

So, I'm assuming you survived what you saw in my last post.  Now I've got more.  Again, we're doing a quick spruce-up in anticipation of a full, all-out redo some day.  Micah's preference would be to call the local Mom & Pop to design our whole kitchen, then he'd just throw it together like a kit!  However, we aren't in a position to do that, so we're just making do.  If anyone can do "make-do" work look slick, it's Micah!

This is what was going on while I wasn't cooking supper...I was sewing a costume for SMASH instead.

There isn't any way I could be cooking in here!  We bought lunch meat,  flipped up the hanging leaf on the island counter, and made sandwiches!

So, yes, there are dirty dishes in that dish pan.  Had I anticipated this, even stopped to think at all, I would have banned dishes, and pulled out piles of paper everything!

This is what I found this morning.  So, it's somewhat workable; Adam actually made waffles for us this morning!  I could get to the coffee pot, so I was all set!  I can't wait to order the new hinges and knobs.  See that one lonely Antique Brass knob on the far left cabinet door.  I'm buying more of those.

I like my red plant pots.  They were once red clay that were painted Awana colors, (red, blue, green, yellow,) for a project a couple years ago.  Now, they are gloriously, (I read that word in a fb post this morning, then reused it, then reused it again here...I'll try to retire it...I will,) resurrected for my kitchen window plants.  I must add that these plants are very kind to me; they just don't die!

Anyway, I think Micah is getting close to handing me a paint brush so I can do my part by painting the cabinets.  I'll also need quite a bit of sandpaper before I even get to the painting stage!

  1. Oooh! How fun and exciting! I bet you'll be puttering away in the kitchen more happily in the future!
