So, today was a day on the road. Out to ReStore to look for kitchen lighting. Notta. So, off to Lowes to look. Notta. By "notta", I mean just the right pendant light to go over my island counter was not there. It did not call out to me. I'm sure it's hiding somewhere. I will find it.
Next it was time for Anna and I to hit the road for SMASH. Micah picked up a few things and then returned back to the kitchen to, um, remove the ceiling! He figured since we'd be gone most of the day, it was as good a day as any. After we returned from theater practice, Micah told us that as soon as he tugged on the southeast corner (I'm calling it "southeast", he just pointed and said "that" corner) most of the rest of the ceiling just came down! Yup, he figures it could have come down at any time without warning. Yikes.
Annnnndddd...of course, there is a lovely wiring junction exposed now that makes us again say, as we've said in other rooms of the house where we've replaced walls and ceilings, "It's a wonder the house didn't burn down!" So, anyway, the heat was down, windows open to let out the dust. Some of the dust. Just a little bit of the dust. The rest of the dust coats most of the downstairs...even though he shrouded the room and doorways with plastic.
Today I got to sew some seams on a wedding dress. Yup, that's right! Ok, it was just for one of the characters in the play....
Photos of kitchen to come in the morning.
